About Melanie Levesque
Melanie Ann Levesque (born May 20, 1957) is an American politician from the state of New Hampshire. A Democrat, Levesque has represented the 12th district in the New Hampshire Senate since 2018; she is the first African American to serve in that body. Senator Levesque is chair of the Senate Election Law & Municipal Affairs committee, and serves on the Judiciary and Transportation committees. Levesque previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives between 2006-2010 and 2012-2014.
